Bugalugsapalooza, Purple Disturbance EP Launch
Don’t miss this free show headlined by Purple Disturbance, including Spiera, Colour me Tragic, Crown St and Cleatus.
Hailing from New South Wales, Purple Disturbance are a four-piece post-punk/alt-rock powerhouse slicing through the noise with gritty riffs and razor-sharp attitude. Equal parts loose chaos and tight precision, they deliver a ferocious nod to punk legends like The Ramones and modern firebrands like Idles, Amyl and the Sniffers, and The Vines.
Lyrically, they’re fearless — reflecting small-town struggles and social truths with brutal honesty. From underage drinking and vaping to family violence and local bigotry, Purple Disturbance tackle it all with a fierce mix of humour, rebellion, and raw emotion.
Frontman Thom is a magnetic storm — part Iggy Pop, part early Jim Morrison — while his brother Josh drives the low end with pulsing, unpredictable basslines. Jess thunders the drums with Keith Moon-level abandon, and Jed’s gritty Gretsch guitar ferociously slices through the mix. Together, they’re a force you can’t ignore.
Fresh out of high school but seasoned from relentless touring, Purple Disturbance have shared stages with Grinspoon, Jebediah, British India, Frenzel Rhomb, You Am I, The Screaming Jets, Dune Rats, Private Function, Guttermouth, and The Beddy Rays. Fueled by KFC, Zarraffas, and Monster energy drinks, they’re driven by a DIY ethos and raw tenacity — no flash, no bullshit,
just pure modern punk fire.
