CCR Show Ft Late for Woodstock
There will always be conversations about who was the greatest rock band in history, and we’ll never all agree. How could we, when bands like the Beatles, Stones, Doors, Zeppelin and Creedence Clearwater Revival all wore the crown during rock’s greatest era?
What can’t be disputed is that CCR released more top-40 singles in just three years than anyone, anywhere, ever. It was an amazing non-stop flurry of hit after hit, from ‘Susie Q’ in early ‘68 to their swan song ‘Have You Ever Seen the Rain’ in 1970.
In three short years, Creedence released a career’s worth of music – Proud Mary, Born on the Bayou, Bad Moon Rising, Lodi, Down on the Corner, Fortunate Son, Travellin’ Band, Lookin’ Out My Backdoor, Hey Tonight – and all the rest! You couldn’t turn on the radio without hearing a Creedence tune. You couldn’t see a cover band without hearing a few of the many CCR hits. In fact, they quickly became the most covered band of all-time.
Fast forward to the mid-2020’s and they’re still enormously popular, both on the radio and with today’s cover bands. The world still wants to hear more Creedence Clearwater Revival – and who could blame them . . .
